Plot : Dying Breed is a horror movie that interweaves Tasmanian history’s two most fascinating icons namely the Tasmanian tiger, and the Pieman, an escapee from the islands most heavily guarded prison who was later captured and hanged for cannibalism. The story revolves around Nina (Mirrah Foulkes), a zoology student who sets up a team that includes her partner Matt (Leigh Whannell), his old friend Jack (Nathan Phillips) and his girlfriend Rebecca (Melanie Vallejo), to breach Tasmanias dense and dangerous forests, for getting the proof of the existence of the Tasmanian tiger. However, Nina and her team are unaware of a small settlement made up of the descendents of the Pieman roaming in the forests in search of human meat to keep their bloodline strong.
