Plot : District 9, a science-fiction film directed by Neill Blomkamp, narrates the story of an alien species that is forced to live in slum-like conditions on Earth. It has been three decades since the aliens first approached Earth looking for refuge. Since then they have been living in temporary homes allotted to them in South Africa's District 9. Now, a private company named Multi-National United (MNU) that is least interested in their welfare, controls the aliens. MNU is eyeing the tremendous profits they can earn, if they succeed in making operational the amazing weaponry of the aliens', which is proving difficult as it can be activated only with alien DNA. Soon the hostility between the aliens and the humans reaches its peak level when Wikus van der Merwe (Sharlto Copley), a field operative for MNU, is infected by a mysterious virus that causes his DNA to change. This makes him not only the most wanted but the most valued person and he has only one place to hide – District 9.
