Plot : Dim Sum Funeral is a comedy drama directed by Anna Chi, about a divided family that is bought together by the death of the matriarch. After the death of aged Mrs. Xiao (Lisa Lu), her close friend and housekeeper, Viola (Talia Shire) calls up her four children named Alexander (Russell Wong), Elizabeth (Julia Nickson),Victoria (Francoise Yip), and MeiMei (Steph Song),. The children, all of whom had some issues with their mother, are perplexed when Viola insists for a seven day long traditional Chinese funeral. At the funeral, Alexander gets back together with his ex-wife (Kelly Hu), who had left him for his infidelity. Elizabeth finds herself confronting her former husband (Adrian Hough) as she grieves for her mother and dead son. Victoria is married to an African-American and never forgave Xiao for rejecting her. Also, lesbian MeiMei and her partner Deedee (Bai Ling), feel that a monk at the funeral might be ready to donate the sperms and enable the couple to have children.
