Plot : Defamation is a documentary film based on anti-Semitism two generations after the Holocaust. The Israeli director Yoav Shamir was invited by Abe Foxman the head of the Anti Defamation League on a delegation to Europe. The ADL members warn the government there about the growing anti-Semitism. The director discusses both sides of the coin. On one side is Foxman who is firmly against this practice while on the other side is Norman Finkelstein who feels that anti-Semitism is used by Jews and Israel for political gain. The movie depicts the wide-spread views of people in Israel, New York, Poland and Russia.The movie also explores the past animosity between Jews and African Americans of New York as Yaov interviews a black at Crown Heights in Brooklyn. There is also an interesting talk between him and his grandmother in Israel. The movie also shows a group of Israeli teens on a pilgrimage to a former Nazi camp in Poland where they are shown a video that features the poor condition of Jews in the concentration camps. The movie is about the differences in people’s opinions on this topic.
