Plot : “Dear John” is a romantic war drama, directed by Lasse Hallström. This movie is about a soldier, John Tyree, who after spending holidays comes back home. There, he falls in love with a traditional girl Savannah, who is a college student. He gets a chance to impress her, as her purse suddenly falls into a valley from the top of a pier. This happens to be a love at first sight, as their first meeting pushes them towards each other. John gets deeply impressed with Savannah, as he gets to know that she’s utilizing her spring break in making a living place for humanity. John himself joins her and this results in Savannah’s closeness with John. As the Dear John video moves forward, the romance between the love-birds keeps on booming. Then the time comes, when they both have to move back to their places. Then Savannah promises until John completes his 12 months enlistment and comes back to her, she’ll be writing letters to him. But life takes a U-turn, when John get re- enlisted, after there happens massive 9/11 attacks. Hence their love has to face its ultimate test, as they have to keep alive a long-distance relationship.
