Plot : Flint Lockwood (Bill Hader) is a budding inventor and scientist, always encouraged by his mother, but critized by his father for wasting time and efforts in making useless inventions. He lives in Swallow Falls, a small island in the Atlantic hidden by the letter A, in the world map. The town’s people live comfortably by its principle commerce – exporting sardines. Suddenly, one day the world decides that it has had enough of sardines and doesn’t like it anymore. Unable to sell their sardines the town’s people are forced to consume it themselves and that becomes their staple food. With an idea to bring variety on the dining table, the little known inventor tries to create a machine that would mutate water molecules into food. Looking for a place to power up his machine and not finding any, he sneaks into the local power station and plugs it in. Jolted by the high voltage, the machine shoots up in the sky like a rocket and lodges itself in the atmosphere. Trying to hide from the people’s wrath now, Flint meets Sam Sparks (Anna Farris) whose chance of becoming a weather reporter, he has just spoiled. Few moments later, purple clouds gather over the town and it starts raining cheeseburgers. Flint becomes famous, and Sam reports this strange weather to her agency. Sallow Falls suddenly gets new food everyday! But greed takes over in the form of the gluttonous Mayor Shellbourne (Bruce Campbell), who wants Flint to command his machine to rain food three times a day to make the town a tourist attraction. Flint warns the mayor, but does as asked. However, the machine goes into a tizzy and all hell breaks loose. See what happens next!
