Plot : ‘Casino Jack and the United States of Money’ is a documentary directed by Alex Gibney. This movie highlights the career life of businessman, lobbyist and con-man, Jack Abramoff. He was involved in a big political scandal with few other members of his group. Abramoff was convicted for his crime and several other associates of his were also sentenced. These included 9 other lobbyists, 2 White House officials, Representative Bob Ney and numerous congressional staffers. Various charges were leveled against Abramoff, including conspiracy, fraud and tax evasion. He, along with Scanlon, imposed extra charges on their clients and by doing this he received multibillion dollar profits. The profit was then divided between his own accounts and his team. ‘Casino Jack and the United States of Money’ video illustrates how Abramoff, without informing anybody else, coordinated intensive lobbying to force his clients to pay extra charges. The movie reveals how he was convicted for giving expensive gifts and meals to politicians in return of political favors, including illegal donations to legislators, so that in return, they could grant him votes and support.
