Plot : Directed by Richard Gabai, Call of the Wild is a family adventure drama about a young girl who rescues an injured wolf and comes into the notice of an evil stranger. Ryann (Ariel Gade) is visiting her recently widowed grandfather (Christopher Lloyd), in Montana. Ryann’s grief about the absence of shopping malls is sidetracked when she befriends an injured wild hybrid wolf/dog she finds on the back porch and names it Buck. When Ryann expresses her desire to take the dog to Boston, her grandfather tries to make her realize that the animal will, sooner or later, have to return to the wild. Despite this, Ryann seeks the help of a local boy to train Buck to become a sled dog leader, so that he can participate in the annual sledding race. Meanwhile, a dark-hearted local bully named Heep (Timothy Bottoms) tries to claim Buck as his own, and a mysterious mountain man, Hatcher (Wes Studi) always makes an appearance on the periphery of action.
