Plot : Blood Done Sign My Name is a heart moving story of the struggle for justice and empowerment. It is based on the book of the same name and focuses on the racial murder of a young black man, which took place in Oxford, North Carolina in 1970. The film recalls the murder of 23-year-old Henry Marrow, who was a black Vietnam veteran. He was shot and brutally beaten to death by an eminent businessman of Oxford and his two sons were involved with him, in this gruesome act. When the trial happened, the businessman and his sons were acquitted by an all-white jury panel. Because of the fake trial, many angry African-American citizens took the matter in their hands and started rioting and vandalizing public property. However, Henry’s cousin, Ben Chavis had something else on his mind, and decided that the best way to deal with the injustice, was by organizing a peace march. Soon, he was joined by his relatives, and the number only grew. Soon thousands joined him and his friends, on a three-day 50-mile trek to Raleigh. The film is also viewed from the perspective of a 10-year-old boy named Timothy Tyson, who watched his father, a pastor of an all white Methodist church, trying to convince the people around him, that they cannot avoid integration at any cost.
