Plot : Beeswax, a comedy drama directed by Andrew Bujalski tells the tale of pair of identical twin sisters who in spite of sharing a close bond do not have much in common. Austin, TX is the home of twin sisters Jeannie (Tilly Hatcher) and Lauren (Maggie Hatcher). Jeannie, despite being confined to a wheelchair, runs a well-established clothing store with Amanda (Anne Dodge), her longtime friend. However, Lauren has been in and out of jobs and is contemplating an offer to teach English in Kenya. Amanda and Jeannine have a fight and since the original partnership agreements have been prepared by Amanda’s father she threatens Jeannine with legal action to take full control of the business. This makes Jeannine seek the advice of her former boyfriend Merrill (Alex Karpovsky), who has nearly completed his law degree. Merrill welcomes the distraction and the two are soon sleeping together. Lauren’s intentions of helping her sister are sidetracked by her mother’s myriad problems, even as she is uncertain of her own future.
