Plot : Be Cool is a comedy film which is a sequel to 1995 mobster comedy Get Shorty. Mobster turned movie producer Chili Palmer (John Travolta) gets bored with the movie industry after being forced to make a useless sequel. When his music producer friend Tommy Athens (James Woods) is gunned down, he sees it as an opportunity to change his profession. He helps his widow Edie Athens (Uma Thurman) in running her dead husband’s failing company. Chili hires young and talented Linda Moon (Christina Milian) to play the female vocalist. Using his wise skills and negotiation tactics he plans to make his new venture a success. While running the business, he comes to know that there are certain problems with the company. The Russian mafia is behind Chili’s life as he had witnessed the killing of Athens. His record company owes $300,000 to gangster type hip-hop producer Sin LaSalle. Linda Moon whom he hires as singer has contractual obligations to Nick Carr (Harvey Keitel) and Raji (Vince Vaughn). It is interesting to see if his skills help him to come out of this viscous cycle of music industry where not everyone plays by rules.
