Plot : The movie 'Atonement' is jam-packed with romance, drama and mysteries, and is directed by Joe Wright. It is based on a British Novel, which follows a 13-year-old aspiring writer Briony Tallis. The story throws light on the childish misinterpretation of Broiny, which turns the lives of several people upside down. Once Briony happens to see her elder sister Cecilia and Robbie (Briony's crush) together and gets the wrong idea. She doesn’t like Robbie so much, as he is the son of their family servant and Briony’s family is generous to him. He is paid for his studies by her family, and now, he is planning to go to a medical college. Apart from the incident when Briony watches him with her sister, she gets a letter meant for Cecilia from Robbie; she thinks that Robbie is out of his senses. Hence, when her cousin is raped, Briony gives the name of Robbie to the police. She says, that she has witnessed him committing this crime. But her statement against Robbie, merely due to misunderstanding, changes the lives of several persons in the movie.
