Plot: Alvin and the Chipmunks is a musical comedy drama, directed by Tim Hill, about a struggling songwriter who becomes successful after he meets three chipmunks who can sing. Dave Seville (Jason Lee) is a songwriter, struggling make a name for himself in the music industry and despite his former roommate, Ian (David Cross), from having a high profile position in the industry, Dave still has to get his one big chance. Then, Dave meets three chipmunks named Alvin (Justin Long), Simon (Matthew Gray Gubler), and Theodore (Jesse McCartney), who have the ability to sing. Convinced that these three forest crooners will help him gain the heights of success, Dave leaves no stone unturned to turn them into the next greatest phenomenon in pop music. However, even though the chipmunks are quite adorable and talented, they still are not used to living a domesticated life. And even though their wild streak creates total chaos in Dave's life, home, and career, he cannot stay mad with them for long.
