Plot : A Serious Man is an awesome dramedy directed by Ethan Coen and Joel Coen. This movie is an attempt to chronicle the childhood of Coen brothers. “A Serious Man” is set in the year 1967 in St. Louis Park, Minnesota. The central character of the movie is Larry Gopnik. Larry is a Jewish academic living in an average Jewish neighborhood in a Minneapolis village. The plotline of the movie actually throws light on Larry’s religious and existential battle as his wife Judith considers to leave him for his coworker Sys Ableman. In addition to all this, his ne'er-do-well brother, Arthur, who has inadequate resources and the aptitude to care for himself and as a result lives on Larry's couch. Larry then starts to question the worth of his life as he deals with these and other trials, including his son, Danny and his daughter, Sarah steal money. And moreover a female neighbor also diverts him by sunbathing naked. Larry seeks suggestions from three different rabbis in an attempt to resolve his troubles and to turn out to be a severe and dedicated man.
