Plot : A Prairie Home Companion is a musical comedy directed by Robert Altman. The movie is based on a down home radio variety show named A Prairie Home Companion. This show is performed and recorded live in a theater in St. Paul, Minnesota. This radio show has successfully managed to survive in the television dominated world. The show is on the verge of cancellation by the new owner who possesses the radio station and the theater both and considers it to be a show of previous era. The story depicts behind the scene activities that happen on the last show of this group. The performing group of the last show consists of singers Rhonda and Yolanda who are a sister duo called Johnson Sisters and can talk simultaneously. Other members are cowboys Dusty and Lefty who sing and play guitar respectively. The third performer is Lola who is forced by her mother Yolanda to sing. Audience enjoys the performances unaware of the fact that this would be their last performance. The story takes an interesting turn on arrival of an angel disguised as a lady who calls herself Asphodel.
