Plot : Directed by Nati Baratz, Unmistaken Child is documentary about a the shy but faithful pupil who under the direct orders of the Dalai Lama, goes in search of the reincarnation of his dead master. Zopa had gladly come into the service of Lama Konchog when he was only a seven-year-old boy and felt bereft and abandoned when his master passed away. Later, the Dalai Lama instructed him to look for a little boy, who was a reincarnation of Konchog. Zopa had no idea of where to look for the little boy, who could be living in any part of the world. However, this did not deter him from setting out in search of his master, who was expected to be embodied in the child. Another complexity which made Zopa’s task a little more difficult was that the “unmistaken child” had to be located within the short span of four years, after which it would become quite hard to detach the boy from his parents’ love and care.
