Plot : Directed and written by So Yong Kim, Treeless Mountain is all set in Seoul, Korea. The storyline of the movie revolves around two sisters, seven year-old Jin and her younger sister, Bin, who go to live with their Big Aunt, during the summer, as their mom go in search of their estranged father. With them are a small cute piggy bank and the promise of their mom to come back, when their piggy bank would be full. The girls reluctantly adjust to the changes in their life and both keep counting days for their mother’s return while adding coins in their piggy bank. When their bank is full, Big Aunt refuses to have them any more and they rush to their grandparents’ farm, it is the time for the sisters to realize the importance of family bonds. This breathtakingly beautiful, meditative and touching movie is from the director of In Between Days.
