Plot : Three Monkeys is a drama about the struggle of a family to stay together in the face of various odds, directed by Nuri Bilge Ceylan. Set in the non tourist areas of Istanbul, the strange detective story focuses on four main characters, including a couple and their son as well as the boss of the husband. The family finds itself suddenly out of place when minor weakness explodes into excessive treachery. As the family battles against odds to remain together, they try to conceal the truth and while doing that they are split apart by their problems. They try to avoid hardships, by deciding to turn their backs to the truth, and avoid seeing hearing or even talking about it. The film mounts a sarcastic analysis of the family which is perforated with double standards but is still persistently tough in its apparently endless gift of sidestepping guilt and responsibility.
