Plot : The Poker House, a drama flick directed by Lori Petty that presents a dramatic version of the years spent by the director in Iowa as a teenager. Set in 1976 and based on true events, the story of the movie revolves around Agnes (Jennifer Lawrence), the eldest of the three daughters who live with their drug addict mother Sarah (Selma Blair) and look upon a pimp as their father figure. The place where they live is a brothel named Poker House and also doubles up as a drug Mecca and gambling retreat for local unlawful residents. Having been deprived of the luxury of living each day to the fullest, Agnes goes through an arduous struggle for survival everyday, along with her sisters, Cammie (Chloe Grace Moretz) and Bee (Sophia Bairley). And then comes a day which will be discernible by both tragedy and triumph for Agnes and her siblings. But it remains to be seen which of these two emotions will reverberate predominantly in the upcoming days and weeks?
