Plot : The Open Road is a romantic comedy directed by Michael Meredith. This movie centers on a minor-league baseball player, Carlton Garrett, who decides to take on a journey to Texas, with his ex-girlfriend Lucy and his separated father, to see his ailing mother, who has to undergo a major surgical operation. Carlton’s father, Hall of Famer Kyle Garrett is a baseball legend and lives separately from his ex-wife Katherine and son. Carlton also hasn’t been in his contact since five years. But one day, after receiving a call from his grandfather that his mother would only go for the major operation after seeing his father Kyle, he embarks a journey to Columbus to acquaint him about his mother’s illness. When he reaches there, after having a tense discussion with his dad, he manages to convince him. But when they go for security check while boarding a flight, Kyle finds that he has lost his identity proof and thus can’t be allowed to go by plane.
