Plot : The Headless Woman, a thrilling mystery drama directed by Lucrecia Martel, is about woman who unintentionally kills a dog in a hit and run accident on the highway and soon after undergoes drastic physiological changes. A middle-aged dentist named Verónica (María Onetto) rams her car into something while driving on the highway. She soon realizes that she has killed someone, and later when the body of a young boy is found in a roadside canal, Verónica becomes convinced that the boy had been the victim of her hit and run accident. Ridden by guilt, Verónica experiences drastic psychological changes. She is unable to recognize people around her as well as their intentions, besides becoming confused and unmoored from herself as well as reality. As the days pass by, Verónica becomes more obsessed with her guilt feeling making her similar to a sleepwalker who’s actually awake. She tries to put together the events during that fateful drive. Meanwhile, her husband tries to help her by methodically wiping away her trail.
