Plot : The movie 'The Great Debaters', is a drama and biographical movie, directed by Denzel Washington. The movie is based on a true story and set in 1935-36, where a coach Melvin B. Tolson, coaches a debate team at Wiley College, an African American university in Texas. This is a team of four students including a girl and a 14-year-old boy, James Farmer. Tolson is inspired from the Harlem Renaissance, and his secret works as an organizer. So, following the same path, he utilizes the controversial, community challenging backgrounds and strategies to teach this team. He tries to the best of his abilities, to make this team perfect and capable of challenging any team in the world. After a long time of toiling for this team, the day comes when his team is invited to accept the challenge of Harvard University's nationwide champs. Facing the competition with these veteran Harvard University champions, the team has to go through several issues including assassin, crime, sex, riots, affairs, jealousy and a number of other burning matters.
