Plot : Taking Woodstock, a musical comedy directed by Ang Lee, is a film about an interior designer who unintentionally helped to set off a cultural revolution. It is the summer of 1969, and Elliot Tiber (Demetri Martin), an unlucky interior designer, moves back to upstate New York to help his parents in managing The El Monaco, their rundown Catskills motel. With the banks ready to shut out the motel, Elliot’s father’s plan of burning it down cannot be carried out, since its insurance is overdue. While Elliot tries to comprehend how he can help his parents, he learns about a neighboring town having cancelled the permit for the upcoming Woodstock concert. He contacts the producers, expecting to stimulate some business for the motel. However, he still has to realize what he has unknowingly initiated. Three weeks later, Elliot finds himself having a life-changing and generation-defining experience as he not only helps the organizers acquire his neighbor, Max Yasgur's nearby farm, but also offers the motel as their home base.
