Plot : Directed by Carlos Reygadas, Stellet Licht is a psychological drama about a devout farmer who falls in love with another woman. Johan (Cornelio Wall Fehr) is a man of faith who has been married to Esther (Miriam Toews) for years and lives with his seven children in a Mennonite community Mexico. However, Johan is having an affair with a woman of his community named Marianne (Maria Pankratz) and now fears that he has fallen in love with her, and is guilt ridden by this. As he confesses his guilt to his wife and his best friend Zacarias (Jacobo Klassen), his desire for Marianne seems overcome his moral compass.
