Plot : Directed by Malcolm D. Lee, Soul Men is a musical comedy drama about three singer friends. Marcus Hooks (John Legend), Floyd Henderson (Bernie Mac), and Louis Hinds (Samuel L. Jackson), were recognized for their singing talent by record producer Willie Mitchell, and this proved to be their stepping stone to become the most popular soul singers in America. However it was not long before the three separated ways when Hooks decided to strike out on his own and Floyd and Lewis could not make it out together due to clashing egos and creative differences. However, now with the sudden death of Hooks, Floyd and Lewis agree to participate in a reunion performance at the Apollo Theater to honor their deceased friend and band leader, despite the fact that the two have not spoken to each other for decades.
