Plot : Directed by Agnès Varda, Les Plages d'Agnes is biographical documentary that tells its viewers about the life of director, Agnes Varda. The film pays homage to Varda’s past through a collection of elements including clips taken from the projects directed by Varda as well as dramatically reconstructed moments of her life. The documentary also showcases detailed, almost exaggerated testimonials that were created onscreen to represent particular ideas and concepts. An example of this is the enclosed space which was covered from wall to wall and floor to ceiling with the film strips from Les Creatures, the only film directed by Varda that turned out to be a flop. Throughout the narrative of the film, a number of beaches have been featured. The reoccurrence of this organized pattern is Varda’s way of communicating about her own growth in life. In addition the, usage of the freedom of form in the film reminds the viewers of a similar style used by Varda in some of her earlier works.
