Plot : Directed by Erick Zonca, Julia is a thrilling drama about a woman who tries to make a quick buck using a young boy as the bait. 40 years old Julia (Tilda Swinton), is calculating, untrustworthy, a habitual liar and above all an alcoholic. She lives by taking up meager jobs, sandwiched between shots of vodka and one-night stands. Julia believes that she has been dealt a losing hand by life and that she is in no way responsible for messing it up. Becoming lonelier by the day, Julia carelessly shrugs off her only friend Mitch (Saul Rubinek), whenever he tries to help her. Her chance encounter with a Mexican woman, Elena (Kate Del Castillo), leads her into committing a criminal offense for financial gains. But her life takes a turn when she soon finds herself on the run, with a young boy Tom (Aidan Gould) in tow, after her plan fails. Whether she would choose life over death remains to be seen.
