Plot : Written and directed by Christian Petzold, a noir-flavored drama, Jerichow trails the intrigue and latent hostility among the three characters who unexpectedly get entangled in a love triangle. Thomas, (Benno Furmann) a veteran of the Afghan-Soviet war, has been discharged disgracefully from the army. While looking for some quick cash to escape the creditors he agrees to work as a driver for Ali (Hilmi Sözer) a Turkish entrepreneur who hires him to bring around his van from the local canal. Dazzled by the beauty of Ali’s German wife Laura (Nina Hoss), Thomas gets into a passionate affair with her, quite oblivious of the intensely envious and suspicious nature of Ali, the two characteristics that would spell tragedy for all of them.
