Plot : El Olvido is documentary film directed by Heddy Honigmann who tries to make the viewers familiar with the people of the troubled town of Lima in Peru. The movie takes a look beyond the state violence, economic crisis, and political corruption, which has spread its tentacles everywhere in this forgotten city. The documentary has been filmed in Lima and tells the viewers about the city where working class has managed to survive despite being oppressed by the upper classes. The viewers are shown how the people working in the finest hotels and restaurants of the city, make their way to their filthy homes on the hillside, at the end of a workday. It also revealed that even without having any political powers, these very people welcome each new day with hope and optimism. Inspired by their unbreakable spirits, the documentary narrates how they resist anonymity with the weapons of irony, determination and memory power.
