Plot : Directed by John Patrick Shanley, Doubt is based on his own Pulitzer Prize winning play. The movie is set in 1964, in Bronx, when a vibrant, charismatic priest, Father Flynn (Philip Seymour Hoffman) tries to reform the strict customs of a school. However, his greatest opposition comes from the principal of school , Sister Aloysius Beauvier (Meryl Streep), who has an unrelenting belief in the power of fear and discipline. Sister James (Amy Adams), informs Sister Aloysius, about Father Flynn spending too much time with the new black student named Donald Miller. Sister Aloysius then accuses Father Flynn of child molestation without a shred of proof, and when the latter denies all accusations, the two religious people are locked in a battle of wills.
