Plot : Confessions of an Ex-Doofus-ItchyFooted Mutha, an adventure comedy directed by Melvin Van Peebles, is a semi-autobiographical story about an explorer who goes on a round trip from Harlem to the high seas. Ten year old Melvin Van Peebles, becomes bored of living at home and decides to see the world with his own eyes instead of learning about it from the books or from his mother. He runs away from home and gets a lift from a gracious truck driver. Later, some gangsters throw Melvin into the river, after killing the truck driver. Soon, Melvin lands in New York City where he supports himself by taking up odd jobs till a kindly woman takes him in. However, as domestic life doesn’t interest Melvin, he joins Merchant Marine once he is old enough. His new life takes him on an adventurous journey across the globe where he meets willing women at every harbor. But, Melvin soon realizes that for getting anything in life, one has to pay a price.
