Plot : This movie is a ‘mockedy’ of sorts, related to things that happen in the celebrity world. Bruno (played by Sasha Baron Cohen of ‘Borat’ fame) is a gay Austrian fashion designer. He runs a very popular fashion based show in German, Funkyzeit mit Brüno (Funkytime with Brüno). When he disgraces himself in front of his audiences, by disrupting the Milan Fashion week, he is fired from his own show. Knowing that his future with Europe’s German base is all but finished, he sets off for Los Angeles with his assistant’s assistant, Lutz. There, in an attempt to reinvent himself, he tries various career changes, resulting in him infuriating and rankling some well known figures and unwittingly making several politically incorrect statements. From trying to get into acting, to hosting an interview with a celebrity with Mexican people for chairs, to stalking Harrison Ford, to mistaking a celebrity as a drag queen and hitting on him, Bruno leaves hordes of people repulsed and disgusted. He then chooses the Israeli-Palestinian conflict to maximize his world fame and flies to Jerusalem to interview a Mossad agent and a Palestinian politician together. Again, he displays his lack of knowledge and inappropriate behavior. He interviews a Christian charity leader of the region and portrays him as a dreaded terrorist leader. Numerous serious bloopers later and after embarrassing himself with his gay escapades, he learns that the big names in Hollywood are all straight. Bruno then ‘decides’ to change his gay temperament and turn straight, and innumerable hilarious attempts to portray himself as a macho-man follow.
