Plot : Directed by Jean-Jacques Beineix, Betty Blue is a romantic drama about a vivacious young woman who becomes obsessively involved with a would-be writer. Zorg (Jean-Hugues Anglade) earns his living by working as a handyman. He leads a quiet and peaceful life and in his free time works on his novel. Then one day, he meets the wild and impulsive Betty (Béatrice Dalle) who is also very beautiful. As the two become physically intimate, their passion for each other also grows. The two have a dispute with Zorg’s boss and they leave after which Betty convinces Zorg to get one of his books published. When the book is rejected, Betty becomes enraged. Zorg realizes that Betty’s rage is getting out of control and soon he finds out that she is going out of her mind. Whether or not Zorg will be able to sustain his love for Betty in her worst time remains to be seen.
