Plot : Around the World in 80 Days is an adventurous comedy based on Jules Verne's novel of the same name. Set in 19th-century Britain the movie revolves around Phileas Fogg (Steve Coogan) who is a London inventor and adventurer. Desperate to prove his worth he makes a bet with Lord Kelvin, the head of the Royal Academy of Science that he can make it around the world in a mere 80 days. Thus taking along his Chinese valet, Passepartout (Jackie Chan) and femme fatale Monique, he heads for the tedious journey involving different means of transportation. The valet Passepartout is actually a thief who had stolen a valuable jade Buddha and was running away to hide his crime. He uses his amazing martial arts abilities to protect Fogg from the difficulties which they face on their way. They are followed by a detective who had been sent to keep a check on them. Fogg is suspected to have robbed a major bank and to be escaping from London by the means of this round the world trip.
