Plot : 180 South is an adventure documentary drama. The movie showcases the journey of Jeff Johnson who is greatly inspired by climbers Yvon Chouinard and Doug Tompkins. It was 1968, when Yvon and Doug went on to their climbing expedition to discover the undiscovered areas. Jeff Johnson, who is also an adventurer, wants to follow their footsteps, and so after many years, one day he decides to reach where his goal was – the peak of Corcovado. It’s a mountain in Patagonian landscapes. He gears up to climb the mountains and pass through the waves. He was aware of the disasters that could terrorize his life, but nothing was going to stop him. Everything takes a U-turn when he meets his heroes (Yvon Chouinard and Doug Tompkins) in a hut, surviving through all the difficult conditions. They have grown old now and their faces speak their experiences of centuries. They acquaint him with their understanding of nature and journey of years. They call their adventurous journey as one of the best trips of their lives. The voyage of Jeff Johnson is beautifully depicted in the movie, not through collection of tapes and interviews of people, but by showcasing everything clearly.
