This is one of those rare times, when someone has really lived up to the expectations and the surrounding hype. Yes, I’m talking about the masterpiece of filmmaking, Albert Nobbs, and its lead star, Glenn Close.

Glenn is an actor, who needs no introduction. Her work stands testimony to her caliber, and Albert Nobbs has certainly added another feather in her cap. There was much hoopla surrounding the movie, especially around the role that Glenn plays. Needless to say, such a role is once in a lifetime chance for any actor.

Rumor mills were abuzz from quite a long time now, as everybody has been expecting her to grab an Oscar at least. And thankfully, true to everybody’s expectations that magic has begun!

Yes, Glenn Close has made it to the nomination list of the Oscars! Set in 19th century Ireland, this film is nothing less than engrossing, as it sees Glenn donning the garb of a man to shield herself from the hostilities of a male-dominated world. Needless to say, Glenn has delivered one of the best performances of her life as Albert Nobbs.

Now that Glenn has made it the Oscars’ nomination list, placing herself in the running for the Best Actress Award, every heart is waiting for the Oscar night. Millions of hearts would be united in prayers, craving to see Glenn holding the coveted trophy.

Other than a role that is way beyond any actors’ imagination, this film is considered feminist in many ways. It would be interesting to see if Glenn can really manage to clinch the trophy for such a film.
